INFLUENCE OF GRREK MYTHOLOGY

 Greek mythology still fascinates us. This fascination is connected with amazing and astonishing tales about gods, demigods, and mystical creatures. Even though those fancy stories sound bizarre, we still can find something relevant to us. This is because they were written by ancient philosophers with brilliant minds. Greek myths influenced hugely modern world, not only in a moral way. They have shaped traditions, literature,  cultures, and even directed political systems. There are many nowadays idioms and words that were derived from ancient Greek, like Achilles' heel, Herculean effort, antique, dialogue, and many others (It is estimated that over 150,000 words come from ancient Greek). Also, we can find many allusions to myths in modern-day literature, films,  and in global companies' names, e.g. Amazon or Nike. Greek mythology also shows us higher human values in stories - honour, honesty, loyalty, bravery, or conscientiousness. Greek mythology is a rich source of information that can help us understand past civilizations. It's also a great way to learn about ancient cultures.    

Myths are so diverse that everyone can find something for themselves and that's the best part of it.
