#5 WHY ARE CONSPIRACY THEORIES SO POPULAR?

I think conspiracy theories are so popular because people want to find a fast and simple explanation of a miracle. For example, secret fighter jets. These types of jets have strange shapes, move with enormous speed and fly high above the ground. Also, these types of military projects are top secret and people without having any background immediately classify it as a UFO. But as fast as the US military shows these fighters it's gets debunked (Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird and Northrop B-2 Spirit are well-known examples). Another popular conspiracy theory tells us that covid-19 was created as a biological weapon to decrease the world's population but plenty of scientific researches shows that they don't have any harmful substances. It's just too much complicated, so people found out simpler and easier to understand explanation. These type theories show simple and easy-to-understand clarifications, in which people don't need to struggle with unclear terms.

  1. I don't see how the middle of your paragraph supports your topic sentence and leads to your conclusion. You have a good answer (people need explanations they can understand) but you examples aren't exactly about that.
